About Restylane®

Restylane® is an FDA-approved range of injectables for improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic-acid-based dermal fillers are an effective solution for restoring age-related facial volume loss, and dermal fillers account for approximately 30% of nonsurgical procedures. ⁽¹⁾ Restoring lost volume can help you feel more like your old self, especially if wrinkles and lines are distorting your complexion. Restylane® Defyne

If you are looking for a solution to deep lines and volume loss in the lower face, Restylane® Defyne is a powerful yet flexible formula designed to define your chin and reduce the appearance of laugh lines for a sharper facial profile. If you have what is colloquially known as a “weak chin”, Restylane® Defyne can help you achieve a heart or oval shape that compliments your features.

Restylane® Refyne

Best for dynamic lines, Restylane® Refyne is formulated to eliminate nasolabial folds that disrupt your facial symmetry, also known as “smile lines” that extend from the corners of the mouth to the side of the nose. Smile lines can result from sun exposure, aging, and a decline in collagen production.

Restylane® Silk

For smoother lips, Restylane® Silk is a lightweight formula strategically designed to improve lip texture for a more youthful appearance. The formula reduces lines around the mouth and lip wrinkles for a smoother look. It adds volume to delicate soft tissue for a more polished lip line. Lip augmentation is extremely popular, and in 2022, specialists performed more than 1.3 million treatments to help patients achieve fuller lips. ⁽⁴⁾ Restylane® Kysse can also quickly erase fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth that make applying makeup difficult.

Restylane® Contour

To reduce wrinkles and restore volume to your cheeks, Restylane® Contour is a long-lasting formula that can help you achieve results for up to a year. Although Restylane® Lyft can also help restore volume to hollow cheeks, Restylane® Contour is a slightly lighter formula that is best for addressing mild facial volume loss and the first signs of aging.

Restylane® Eyelight

Restylane® Eyelight corrects under-eye hollows by restoring the volume of delicate tissue. Your eyes are one of your most prominent facial features, and when they change from aging, it can be difficult to adjust. For a more refreshed look, we can use Restylane® Eyelight, a firm gel designed for the under-eye area to reduce shadows.

Restylane® Lyft (Perlane)

Restylane® Lyft restores volume to hollow cheeks and the back of the hands. Sunken cheeks and thin skin on your hands can make you look older than you are. We can quickly reverse it with our dissolvable hyaluronic-acid-based fillers for more defined cheekbones that are proportional to your facial features. It is slightly thicker and firmer than Restylane® Contour to provide more support to the face. If you have more severe volume loss, this injectable can help you restore your facial volume.

Consultation

During your consultation, we will ask about your medical history and your aesthetic goals. Please come prepared to discuss your allergies and any previous cosmetic procedures you have undergone. We will create a treatment plan to help you achieve the results you desire. Please bring photographs to your appointment for reference if you have examples that demonstrate the aesthetic you would like to achieve. If you have an allergy to lidocaine, you may not be the best candidate for Restylane®.

Preparation, Procedure, & Recovery

To prepare for Restylane® injections, you should avoid blood thinners and stop using nicotine products in the weeks leading up to your treatment. During your Restylane® procedure, your Alexus Medspa provider will cleanse your skin and use a tiny needle to administer the formula. Depending on the areas you would like to treat, the procedure takes an hour or less and you can return home immediately without having to worry about scarring or side effects from anesthesia.

Although the recovery for Restylane® is minimal, you may have some temporary swelling around the injection site for 1-2 days. After the procedure, you will need to take good care of your skin and avoid sun exposure. You will notice results immediately, and the formula will settle into your skin for long-lasting volume.

Botox®

Unlike dermal fillers that restore volume, Botox® limits muscle movement to prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming. During a Botox® appointment, your injector will use a thin needle to inject the formula into your muscle to relax it, smoothing the skin above.
