Preparation

There is very little preparation required before a Juvedérm treatment session. You should avoid NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) like ibuprofen and aspirin, as these can have blood-thinning effects that may encourage bruising after your procedure. For similar reasons, avoid vitamin E and certain herbal supplements. Do your best to avoid excessive sun exposure in the days leading up to your treatment. Tanned or sunburnt skin can cause heightened sensitivity and lead to irritation and discomfort. Before you come in on the day of your procedure, do not apply any makeup or use any acidic skin products. 

Juvedérm Procedure

The Juvedérm procedure is simple and quick. When you come in for your session, we will clean your treatment area and administer a local anesthetic if necessary to prevent any discomfort from the injections. Your provider will then inject your chosen Juvedérm filler carefully into key areas of your skin, accounting for an even distribution of the results. We can complete most Juvedérm procedures in thirty minutes or less. When your procedure is complete, you may go home and resume everyday activities. 

Recovery

Recovery from your Juvedérm procedure will require no downtime. You may experience some initial redness, bruising, swelling, and irritation from your injections.
