About V.I. Peel
A V.I. peel is a medium-depth peel that can transform your appearance by helping you diminish signs of aging. As you age, your skin’s levels of collagen and elastin–proteins that help the skin maintain its structure–decline, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles, and laxity that can affect your appearance. A V.I. peel can address sun damage (photodamage) by increasing your skin’s collagen levels and exfoliating the dead and damaged cells, revealing brighter, beautiful skin. With a V.I. peel, we can address:
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Pigmentation
- Sun damage
- Age spots
- Dull skin
- Uneven skin texture
- Acne

Consultation
During your consultation, we will ask about your lifestyle, medications, and medical history. V.I. peels are generally well-tolerated, and we will recommend products to help you take care of your skin at home. If you have a condition such as eczema or rosacea, you must let us know during your consultation so we can recommend an effective treatment plan based on your Fitzpatrick skin type. (2) The treatment is suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I-VI. Some patients also combine their treatments with Botox to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. In a recent study, patients who combined a V.I. Peel with Botox experienced a 60% improvement in the appearance of wrinkles. (3) Botox is a neuromodulator that temporarily reduces the production of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that causes muscle contractions, to prevent fine lines and wrinkles for a smoother appearance.
Preparation & Treatment Process
To prepare for a chemical peel, you should protect your skin from sun exposure that could damage your skin and cause us to delay your appointment. You should also discontinue retinoids and delay any filler appointments and/or facials before your treatment. You should arrive at your appointment with a clean face, without makeup or skincare products.
We will apply the peel in a thin, even layer to rejuvenate your skin. The formula will stimulate collagen and exfoliate the skin to renew your appearance. The length of your treatment will depend on the condition of your skin and your aesthetic goals. Afterward, we will cleanse your skin to remove the formula and, depending on how your skin responds, we may apply a soothing serum or moisturizing treatment to your skin to reduce inflammation. V.I. peel formulas contain a numbing agent to ensure the treatment is comfortable.
After Your Treatment
You can return to most of your normal activities after your treatment as long as you avoid excessive sun exposure. You should not wash your face for the first few hours after the treatment, and over the next 5-7 days, you will notice some peeling. This is temporary and a sign that the peel is exfoliating your skin to reveal bright, beautiful skin underneath. We can recommend products to help you take care of your skin at home.

After a V.I. peel, you can enjoy smoother skin and a rejuvenated appearance. You can enjoy benefits that last as long as 3-4 months.
